On Monday, July 14, the City of Longmont will be flying an unmanned aerial vehicle to scout for hairy willowherb. This is a list A noxious weed scheduled for eradication in Colorado. Scouting with a drone will make it easier to find in the thick, wetland vegetation.

Flights will take place over the waste diversion wetlands behind the Longmont Recycling Center (140 Martin Street), over the Nelson-Flanders Water Treatment Plant (13212 N. 53rd Street) and at Lykin’s Gulch Greenway. These missions will be performed between the hours of 7 am and 3 pm.
