The United States Department of the Treasury has stopped producing pennies. As a result, the City can no longer provide exact change for cash transactions. When paying in cash, please bring the exact amount. Otherwise, your payment will be rounded up to the nearest nickel and any difference of $0.01–$0.04 will be credited to your account.

Example:

If your bill is $191.51 and you pay with $200.00; your change would normally be $8.49. Since pennies are unavailable, you will receive $8.45 and $0.04 will be applied to your account as a credit.
