Discover Longmont’s Water Story at the First-Ever Community Water Academy
The City of Longmont Water Department, in partnership with Colorado Water Stories and with support from WaterNow Alliance and River Network, invites community members to dive into the City’s first Community Water Academy—a free, family-friendly event designed to educate and inspire residents about Longmont’s water systems, conservation and the value of every drop.
Join us Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Ave., for an afternoon of education, exploration and community connection.
The Community Water Academy will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how water travels from mountain sources to your home and how everyone can play a role in preserving this vital resource.
This first-of-its-kind event is also a chance for the public to preview upcoming updates to Longmont’s Water Quality Report—a key document outlining the quality and safety of our drinking water—and share feedback on how water quality information is best understood and communicated.
Designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind, the Community Water Academy welcomes participants interested in learning more about their local water system. Free educational programming for children will be provided by Dandelion Arts Collective. Spanish and ASL interpretation services will be available.
