Go on a “Blind Date with a Book”

Love is in the air!

The Longmont Public Library is excited to announce a fun and unique Library event for kids and teens, “Blind Date with a Book”. This event is happening February 10 through February 16. Readers are invited to step outside their usual routine and embark on a surprise literary adventure.

What is a Blind Date with a Book?

Library books from different genres will be wrapped in plain paper and on display, with a few clues from our Librarians about their genre or theme written on the outside. Patrons can choose a book based on the hints, making it a true “blind date” with a book they might never have picked up otherwise. Whether you’re in the mood for a romance, a thriller, or something entirely new, there’s a book waiting for you to discover.

How It Works:

  • Pick a Book: Visit the Longmont Public Library anytime during the week of February 10-16, look for our display in the Childrens/Teens area, and browse wrapped books.
  • Unwrap the Mystery: Choose a book based on its clues, check it out, and take it home.
  • Read & Review: After reading, share your thoughts on the book (or the program!) We welcome feedback on the library’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

This playful, Valentine’s-inspired program is designed to encourage readers to explore new genres and discover books they may not have considered before. Whether you’re an avid reader or just looking to try something different, “Blind Date with a Book” is the perfect way to add a little surprise to your reading routine.
