Keeping It Simple

Finger on light switchFlip the switch. The light comes on. Simple, right?

OK, we all know that there’s more to it. But that’s what everyone wants: to have power so reliable that it’s forgettable. And if wind or ice or cunning squirrels cause a disruption, we all want it back on as soon as we safely can.

That’s something Longmont homes and businesses have been able to count on. And it’s something that just got called out by the American Public Power Association, which recognized Longmont for excellence in electric reliability.

What does that mean? In our community’s case, it means that a typical Longmont resident can go more than two years without an electric outage. And if something does happen, it can usually be fixed in about an hour or less. Even in wild weather like our recent windstorm, our first priority is keeping your lights on so that you can focus on the things that matter to you, whether it’s catching up with some work or catching up on the Nuggets.

As always, if you ever have an issue with your power, you can call us at 303-651-8386 (our main line) or 303-776-0011 (our outage line) and our expert electric crews will take care of the rest. But most of the time you probably won’t be thinking about us at all – and that’s perfectly fine.

In fact, it’s simply as it should be.

The Employment Opportunities, Vendor and Employee Self Service portal applications will be down for system maintenance starting Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024 at 6 pm through Friday, Dec. 27, 2024 at noon. We apologize in advance for this inconvenience.
