Longmont Celebrates Colorado Cities and Towns Week
The City/Town of Longmont will be participating in Colorado Cities & Towns Week, Oct. 20 to 26, 2014, which highlights and celebrates the value of municipal government.
Municipal government is the level of government closest to most citizens, and the one with the most direct daily impact upon its residents. Through Colorado Cities & Towns Week, municipalities from across the state will participate in activities to showcase and celebrate cities and towns and the many services they provide.
“We are very excited about the upcoming week,” said City Council Member Sarah Levison. “We look forward to connecting with the Longmont community and celebrating the services that the City of Longmont provides.”
Colorado Cities & Towns Week is sponsored by the Colorado Municipal League (CML), a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization established in 1923 and represents the interests of 267 cities and towns.
Levison, who also is a member of the Colorado Municipal League executive board, encourages residents to watch cable channel 8 during the week of October 20 through 26 to see videos produced by CML that illustrate the importance and value of local government.
