Longmont City Council Members Appointed to NLC Committees

Longmont City Council Members will serve on National League of Cities boards and committees in 2017.

Gabe Santos has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2017 Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations (FAIR) federal advocacy committee. This committee has the lead responsibility for developing NLC’s federal policy positions on issues involving national economic policy, general financial assistance programs, liability insurance, intergovernmental relations, census, municipal bonds and capital finance, municipal management, antitrust issues, citizen participation and civil rights, labor relations, Native American sovereignty and municipal authority. The appointment was announced by NLC President Matt Zone. As a member of the committee, Santos will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the new administration and at home. In addition, Santos will serve the second year of his two-year appointment to the NLC Hispanic Elected Local Officials (HELO) Board of Directors in 2017.

Finley has been reappointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2017 Community and Economic Development (CED) federal advocacy committee. She served on this committee in 2016. This committee has the lead responsibility for developing NLC’s federal policy positions on issues involving housing, community and economic development, land use, recreation and parks, historic preservation and international competitiveness. The appointment was announced by NLC President Matt Zone As a committee member, Finley will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the new administration and at home.

Moore will serve the second year of his two-year appointment to the NLC Board of Directors in 2017.
