Longmont Holds First Ever World Day of Remembrance to Honor Road Crash Victims on Nov 3

In the six years between 2017 and 2022, there were 11,729 road crashes in the City of Longmont which resulted in 587 people being seriously injured and 53 people dying.

The City is working to eliminate all fatal and serious injury crashes within Longmont by 2040 and adopted the Vision Zero approach in 2023 to help reach that goal.

Longmont’s World Day of Remembrance to Honor Road Traffic Victims

The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDoR) is an international annual event that honors people who have lost their lives or been hurt by drivers, as well as those who have been indirectly impacted.

This event will be a safe space to remember those who lost their lives, support our community who are still impacted by surviving fatal or serious crashes, and call for safer speeds.

Longmont will hold its first ever WDoR event on Sunday, Nov. 3. The community is invited to this free event and to join the Vision Zero movement working towards safer streets in our city.
