The Longmont Museum announces its summer film series, featuring both programs for adults and children. All films are hosted in the Museum’s 250-seat Stewart Auditorium. Starting in May, the Museum’s popular film program Views & Brews continues with a series for adults called Cult Classics & Cocktails. In June & July, the Museum will once again host weekly kids’ movies for only $2 admission.

In May and June the adventure continues with knights, dogs, mobsters, an epic road trip and a red stapler. Bring your friends, partake of a signature cocktail specially paired with each film, and enjoy! The Museum is also open with extended evening hours (5 – 9 pm) to stroll through the galleries during Views & Brews — free with a film ticket. Signature drinks, wine, beer and snacks will be available for purchase.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

History is turned on its comic head when, in 10th century England, King Arthur travels the countryside to find knights who will join him at the Round Table in Camelot. Arthur and his knights are then inspired by God to quest together for the Holy Grail. Hilarity ensues along the way as our heroes encounter a damsel in distress, a Soothsayer and the Knights of Ni.

Thelma and Louise

Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon play Thelma and Louise, two working-class friends who plan a quiet weekend getaway from the men in their lives. Best in Show

Best in Show is a mockumentary of five dogs and their owners destined to show in the Mayflower Kennel Club Dog Show. The film follows the surreal interactions among the owners and handlers as they travel to the show and then compete. The similarities between the personalities and characteristics of the owners and those of their dogs will keep you laughing.

Beauty and the Beast (animated)

In this Disney animated classic, Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman, is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the beast’s exterior, allowing her to recognize the kind heart and soul of the true prince that hides on the inside.

Chicken Run

This animated adventure is set at Tweedy’s chicken farm, where any chicken who doesn’t make her egg quota can meet a “fowl” fate. The action turns on the characters of Rocky (an American rooster) and Ginger (a British chicken) who, along with their fellow flock, are determined to break out from the sinister farm before they can be fried, filleted or fricasseed.

Trolls

After the Bergens invade Troll Village, Poppy (Anna Kendrick), the optimistic leader of the Trolls, and her polar opposite, the curmudgeonly Branch (Justin Timberlake), must embark on an adventure that takes them far beyond the only world they’ve ever known to rescue their friends.

Toy Story

Woody, a drawstring cowboy doll (Tom Hanks), is jealous of new-toy-in-town, spaceman action figure Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) in this Pixar fantasy about an eclectic assortment of toys and their comical misadventures.

Moana

Moana, the daughter of a Polynesian tribal chief, is chosen to find a precious artifact that could save her people. She teams up with demigod Maui to locate a legendary island, and together the pair explore fantastical lands and encounter incredible sea creatures in this animated adventure from Disney.
