NextLight has cut its standard home gigabit price to $69.95 per month for new subscribers and is offering the opportunity to get free internet and Digital Voice phone service, Longmont Power & Communications announced today. 

The changes took effect Jan. 1. The price change ends the $99.95 standard rate that has been in place since NextLight’s launch in 2014. This is not a short-term promotion, LPC spokesman Scott Rochat said. 

“We’re customer-owned and customer-focused,” LPC general manager Tom Roiniotis said. “This is a further opportunity for residents who didn’t sign up during the initial citywide buildout, so that they can become part of the success that Colorado’s first Gig City has proven to be.” 

Those already on the $99.95 rate have been moved to the new lower price. The service’s loyalty bonus also remains in effect, meaning that standard-rate customers who stay with NextLight for 12 consecutive months will see a further price cut to $59.95 per month. 

Old and new NextLight customers can also take advantage of a new referral program, receiving a free month of service for every new subscriber they send to NextLight. 

“You could refer three friends and get three free months of NextLight service if they all sign up,” Rochat said. The customer who’s referred will also get their 12th month of service free. 

In addition, customers who sign up for Digital Voice in January, February, or March will get their first month of telephone service free.
