On The March
On The March
From now on, I am circling March 13 in red on any calendar I buy. And I don’t think anyone could blame me.
In 2019, March 13 was the day of the bomb cyclone – the short, sudden blizzard that hit the Front Range like a Von Miller sack.
In 2020, of course, March 13 was the day Longmont’s city buildings began to close in response to the pandemic, the threshold of a strange new world we’re all still navigating.
And this year? You know that one. March 13 was the forecasted opening date of “Snowmageddon,” a brand-new Blizzard Of Unusual Size to enliven Northern Colorado’s weekend and enhance our social distancing measures.
No, some things don’t change very much at all.
Just like our commitment to you.
After all, we’re yours. Longmont has owned its own electric service since 1912, its own NextLight broadband since 2014. That means we’re not just community-located, we’re community-focused. And it means that we’re dedicated to getting you the high-quality electric and internet service you count on, even in challenging times.
That’s why we made a host of adjustments to safely provide service during the pandemic.
It’s why, even when faced with wind and weather, LPC is consistently recognized for reliability.
It’s why NextLight increased its base-level speeds and reached out with new opportunities for Longmont students and income-qualified households to get service.
We’ve said it before. We’ll say it again. We’re here for you.
We’ve got a lot of “Colorado spring” ahead of us. March and April are usually our snowiest months, so stay safe. (You might even check out our tips on preparing for a storm and what to do during a winter outage.) But you can also stay assured that we’ll keep working for you today, tomorrow, and even through whatever weirdness the next March 13 may hold.
And that’s no snow job.
