Parks, Open Space and Trails launches JoinUs volunteer portal

Volunteering just got easier.

The City of Longmont’s Parks, Open Space and Trails (POST) division recently launched JoinUS, a new tool that makes it simple for all to discover, join and track volunteer and educational events.

JoinUs is a win-win for both the City and our volunteers,” Volunteer Coordinator Danielle Levine said. “We’re hopeful that the benefits of this portal will get more individuals out and involved with POST volunteer efforts.”

The tool will help users register and track volunteer events quickly, allowing more time for volunteering and building relationships. Users can access the handy calendar tool to register for educational programs, trainings and special events in addition to volunteer opportunities. JoinUs is easy to learn, with built-in support provided.

Features of JoinUs include:

  • Volunteer Profile and Dashboard – manage your information, interests, photo, emergency contacts, volunteer hours and more. The dashboard pulls upcoming events that match your history.
  • Calendar of Events – enjoy seeing all opportunities in one place, and sort as you like by type, date, etc.
  • Availability Anywhere – access this cloud-based web application anywhere, anytime with an internet connection. There is no software to install and it’s mobile friendly.
  • Communications – organizers and volunteers can easily communicate and stay in the loop through messaging within the system.

Levine encourages those interested in volunteering to explore JoinUs and register for upcoming events. POST volunteer programs include Adopt-a-Park; Adopt-a-Rose Garden; efforts at Button Rock Preserve; Clean Up, Green Up; photography; raptor monitoring; restoration crew efforts and more. See all the opportunities available and learn more at bit.ly/post-volunteer.

“We appreciate every volunteer effort – no matter how large or small,” Levine said. “Let’s make a difference together.”

Welcome to the new website! We’re still fine-tuning things, so please bear with us as we make improvements.
