Police Operation 1800 Block of Donovan Drive Saturday, October 15

At 2:34 pm on Saturday, October 15, 2022, Longmont Police were called to the 1800 block of Donovan Drive on a menacing call. A caller stated a male resident at 1827 Donovan, a duplex, exited his home and pointed a rifle at multiple neighbors. This property is in central Longmont.

The occupant of the property, 36-year-old Travis Allan Jensen, returned to the home and refused to exit when police patrol officers arrived. The responding officers attempted to get Jensen to surrender voluntarily.

The Longmont Emergency Communications Center (LECC) issued a reverse notification for homes in the immediate area to shelter in place. Due to the nature of this call, police response was escalated to a SWAT call-out resulting in a significant police presence in the area. The suspect refused to comply for hours. Officers sought a search warrant to enter the home which became available at approximately 8 pm.

Due to the length of time police were on the scene, Longmont SWAT sought the assistance of members from the Boulder County SWAT Team, the City of Boulder SWAT Team, the Boulder County Regional Bomb Squad, and the Arapahoe County SWAT Team.

Mr. Jensen was taken into custody at 3:30 am, Sunday, October 16, and was combative with officers. Once in custody, Longmont Police sought a medical clearance for Mr. Jensen at a local hospital and transported him to the Boulder County Jail.
