Two park irrigation ponds are currently being drained for maintenance. The pond at Loomiller Park, which commonly drains in the winter due to a faulty gate valve, is being purposely drained this winter in order to repair the gate valve so it will hold water more effectively. The pond at Garden Acres Park is being drained for maintenance dredging of the pond to improve water quality and irrigation pump system operations. Maintenance on both ponds will be completed in the next few months and will be refilled in late spring 2015.
