Public invited to artists’ presentations
The Art in Public Places Commission has invited four finalists to present their artistic design solutions for the Main Street (Colo. 287) Bridge Collaboration project. The public is invited to watch the artists’ presentations in the City Council Chambers Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, from 6 to 8:30 pm.
The four artists are, Tom Latka, Julie Maren, Robert Tully and Christopher Weed. Once completed, the artwork will be installed on top of pedestals on the new replacement bridge in the 100 block of South Main Street, where it crosses over the St. Vrain Creek.
Longmont’s Art in Public Places Program is funded through a one percent levy on most capital improvement projects. Contact Lauren Greenfield for more information.
