Public Notice: Longmont Tourism Improvement District
The City Council of the City of Longmont, Colorado will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, during the scheduled City Council meeting at 7 pm in the City Council Chambers, 350 Kimbark St., Longmont, Colorado, to discuss the following topic:
* The establishment of a Longmont Tourism Improvement District (LTID) and Fee
Improvements and services of the proposed District include: Services designed to generate commercial activity, attract tourists, visitors, conventions and other meetings to the City by funding sales, marketing & communications, destination development, collection costs, administration, and contingency/reserve. Revenue from the LTID is intended to be used to fund the tourism services and tourism improvements described in the Plan.
Boundaries of the proposed District are: Coterminous with the boundaries of the City of Longmont.
Businesses of the proposed District are: Lodging businesses as defined in LMC 6.40.010, generally all hotels obligated to pay the lodgers tax but not including short-term rentals or lodging businesses with less than ten rooms.
Fee: The LTID will charge an annual fee rate of two percent (2%) of gross short term room rental revenue for all lodging businesses within the boundaries of the District.
The proposed Longmont Tourism Improvement District Plan and information about the proposed District will be available via the published City Council packet on the City’s website (longmont.primegov.com/public/portal) starting Friday, August 8. All residents and impacted businesses are invited to participate in the public hearing by providing their comments to the City Council during the designated public hearing on August 26. Each speaker will have three minutes to speak.
