Recreation Center and Centennial Pool to Open June 15
Recreation Center and Centennial Pool to Open June 15
Longmont Recreation will be welcoming patrons back to the Longmont Recreation Center and Centennial Pool on Monday, June 15, 2020 on a reservation-only basis. The City of Longmont Recreation is allowed to reopen facilities as outlined in the Governor’s Safer-at-Home amendments presented last week and in consultation with Boulder County Public Health (BCPH). As with other facilities, guests will be asked to follow the general COVID-19 best practices, including wearing a face covering and maintaining social distance.
“We’ve been working hard to bring folks as many classes and activities as we can on YouTube and Facebook, and we’re delighted to be able to welcome our residents back in the safest manner possible,” says Recreation Manager Jeff Friesner.
Preparations to welcome guests back include increased sanitation and cleaning practices, installing signage, filling pools, and additional staff training. Safety and wellness of Recreation guests is our top priority, and we are working diligently to ensure we can meet State and County guidelines throughout the process.
To use the Recreation Center and Centennial Pool, patrons will be asked to reserve and pay online for their one-hour time slot in advance. The initial reopening phase will have limited hours and reservations. If reservations are full, patrons are encouraged to get on a waitlist.
BCPH guidelines for gyms, pools, and athletics fields are extensive; for the full list of guidelines, restrictions, and FAQs, please visit our Recreation COVID FAQ page.
