Remembering Rita

Missing Woman 2018 Rita
On Sunday, April 7, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., Rita Gutierrez-Garcia’s family, and Longmont Police Services are remembering Rita Gutierrez-Garcia on her birthday at Thompson Park, 420 Bross St., Longmont, CO. The public is invited to attend.

Rita disappeared over a year ago and her family, with financial support from the community, has erected a memorial bench on the Bross side of Thompson Park. Because Rita’s remains have not been found, this memorial offers a place for those who loved her, to remember her and be close to her. While this day will be dedicated to Rita and her family, the investigation into Rita’s disappearance continues.

Longmont Police Services is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Rita’s discovery and/or for information which leads to the arrest of a suspect or suspects. This is still a very active investigation, and police continue to make significant progress. Officers continue to collect information, evidence, and follow-up on all leads. The department will not rest until we find Rita and this case is resolved.

Please call (303) 774-3700 for the police tip line or e-mail your tips to policetipline@longmontcolorado.gov. Anyone with relevant information requiring immediate police involvement is asked to call the Longmont Emergency Communications Center at (303) 651-8501.
