Second Phase of Universal Recycling Ordinance Now Effective
Esta noticia trata sobre la segunda fase de la Ordenanza Universal de Reciclaje. También puede verlo en español.
The second phase of Longmont’s Universal Recycling Ordinance (URO) has been implemented on June 1, 2024, requiring recycling services for all commercial and multifamily properties.
Our intention is to work alongside the commercial and multifamily sector to implement the URO. We know that some businesses will need additional guidance and time. The City has received feedback from businesses that financial assistance programs would help in getting started complying with the URO. The City is currently offering three methods of financial assistance: Zero Waste Coupons in partnership with Boulder County, Bin Purchasing Assistance with Boulder County’s Partners for a Clean Environment (PACE), and CAReS Program Recycling Rebates for Tenants. To learn more about URO Financial Assistance, visit the City’s URO Financial Assistance webpage.
In addition to offering financial assistance and other support for compliance, commercial or multifamily properties that meet any qualifying conditions may qualify for an exemption. For more information on the URO, visit the City’s URO webpage.
If you have any questions on the Universal Recycling Ordinance, please contact the City’s Zero Waste Coordinator at sustainability@longmontcolorado.gov or call (303) 776-6050 for more information.
