Do you love playing, hanging out at the pool, and working with youth?  We have two upcoming certification classes to train you to mix the best of both worlds, and teach swim lessons!  The City of Longmont Recreation and Golf Services hires trained Swim Instructors to teach all of our classes, with options to teach solely in the summer months, or year round!  If you excel in teaching swim lessons, opportunities exist to teach private swim lessons and create your own schedule. 

Longmont Swim Instructor (LSI) Training- ages 15 & up
Pre-Requisite: Ability to swim all 4 competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breast-stroke, and butterfly) proficiently at least 15 yards by last class day and must submit job application by last day of class.

Become certified to teach City of Longmont swim lessons (preschool classes & BLAST) to youth ages 2.5 to 12yrs. 

Class Dates & Times:
May 9- 12, Tues- Fri, 3:30pm-7:30pm at Centennial Pool, 1201 Alpine St, Longmont     

Water Safety Instructor Training – ages 16 & up

Pre-Requisite: Ability to swim 6 strokes – front and back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke. 

Learn the techniques and skills necessary to become American Red Cross certified to teach swim lessons.
