The Future of Walking, Rolling, and Transit in Longmont: Public Meeting and Community Survey Launch on July 18

The City of Longmont has reached a critical milestone in crafting a Transportation Mobility Plan (TMP) to guide the future of walking, rolling, transit and transportation safety. Draft mobility recommendations will be shared at a public meeting on Thursday, July 18 at 5:30 pm at the Longmont Public Library, and through a community survey launching on the same day. The City of Longmont wants your feedback on the draft recommendations in the plan.

The draft recommendations aim to improve access to comfortable walking and biking options and offer ideas for more complete transit connections, while meeting Longmont’s safety and sustainability goals. The final plan will guide Longmont’s near-term and future public investment in transportation safety and infrastructure improvements.

This phase of community engagement includes both in-person and online input opportunities:

  • Community Open House #2: Thursday, July 18 from 5:30-7 pm at the Longmont Library at 409 4th Avenue
  • Online survey from July 18 through August 23 at bit.ly/TMP-Longmont
  • Visit with the project team at the Longmont Farmer’s Market on August 17

Draft recommendations for three key transportation modes – walking, biking, and transit – are based on results from the first phase of community engagement conducted in spring 2024. The project team collected feedback on the transportation needs of Longmont residents through a community meeting, a survey, local events, and focused conversations with a variety of community groups.

To learn more about the project, get project updates or to take the online survey (beginning July 18), visit bit.ly/TMP-Longmont.
