Warning Sirens to be Tested on Mondays in April
During April, the City of Longmont will test the Outdoor Emergency Warning System at 10 am EVERY MONDAY. The siren will last two to four minutes. If you hear the siren and it isn’t during a testing period, seek cover immediately and tune to a Denver-area radio or television station for information.

Citywide Spring Sweep Revised to Occur April 18 – May 6
Due to the large snowstorm that occurred in late March, the citywide spring street sweeping effort has been delayed by one week. Original plans had sweeping operations occurring April 11 – 29, and they are now planned to occur April 18 – May 6. Street sweeping removes tons (literally!) of contaminants annually from the streets that would, otherwise, pollute our air and rivers. Complete information on the City’s street sweeping program, including frequently asked questions can be found online at bit.ly/sweepinglongmont. You can also contact Transportation for questions or information.

Help Guide Longmont’s Future
What’s your passion … Preserving history? Cultural programs for residents? Smart planning and growth? Ensuring community services for all? There are several volunteer openings on boards and commissions that advise city council. Persons shall be eligible to serve who have lived in and been a registered voter in Longmont for one year prior to their appointment. To see all the vacancies and submit your application, visit bit.ly/longmontapp. The application deadline is 5 pm on Wednesday, May 25. For more information call the City Clerk’s Office at 303-651-8649.

Tree Limb Collection Continues
Due to the large volume of branches being collected crews are still working north of 9th Avenue and are expected to have this area completed by Friday, April 15. Crews began collecting limbs south of 9th Avenue on Wednesday, April 13, and will work into next week. Find general program guidelines on the Spring Branch Collection webpage.

Alleyscape and Breezeway Project Update
The Alleyscape and Breezeway Project is currently on the 300 and 400 west blocks of Main Street in Downtown Longmont. The alleys and breezeways on these two blocks are closed to vehicles and pedestrians. All businesses on these blocks are open during construction; please use their Main Street entrances. Loading zones have been designated on each block of Main Street to help businesses receive their deliveries. Please do not park in these zones so they remain open for delivery vehicles. Parking is available on nearby streets and in public lots. For up-to-date information visit DowntownLongmont.com or call 303-651-8586.
