Trade in Your Gas-powered Mower for Electric
Gas-powered lawn mowers and lawn equipment contribute to nearly 10% of the Denver area’s ozone precursor emissions. By switching to an electric lawn mower you can make a positive impact on our air quality and your health. Get a discount on an electric mower when you turn in your gas-powered mower at one of the exchanges sponsored by the Regional Air Quality Council on April 29 at the Budweiser Events Center, May 6 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, or June 3 at Eco-Cycle CHaRM in Boulder. You must register in advance at MowDownPollution.org

Drop Off Old and Unused Medicines for Free
Drugs discarded down the drain can pass through the wastewater plant and into St.Vrain Creek without treatment. Bring them instead to a free drop-off event from 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday, April 29, in the main lobby of Longmont United Hospital, 1950 Mountain View Avenue. Pills, capsules, liquids, inhalers, patches, etc. are welcomed. No needles, thermometers, controlled substances, medical equipment, personal care products, household hazardous wastes, or business wastes accepted. Don’t Let Storms Power You Down – Call LPC!
Spring weather in Longmont can change fast, moving from beautiful to stormstruck with little warning. Most homes handle it with ease, thanks to reliable energy from Longmont Power & Communications, but if a storm brings your power down, call LPC’s outage line at 303-776-0011 or the main number at 303-651-8386. Please do not report an outage by email or Facebook as messages sent after 5 pm might not be seen until the next business day. And to lessen the likelihood of storm damage, have a professional, City-licensed tree trimmer keep your branches clear of power lines. For more information, visit bit.ly/2oRNHHz, and if you need your power turned off temporarily for trimming, call 303-651-8386.
