Cinco de Mayo Celebration
Join us for the 22nd Annual Longmont Celebrates Cinco de Mayo! The fun happens at Roosevelt Park on Saturday May 3, 2025 from 11 am-6 pm. 21st Ave. and Main St. Intersection Concept Chosen
For the intersection at 21st Ave. and Main St., the City chose to combine the protected intersection concept with raised medians. These improvements will build a safer and more comfortable intersection for pedestrians and bicyclists. Get the Scoop on SCOPE
SCOPE is the City of Longmont’s therapeutic recreation program offering sports, activity-based programs, and classes for people of all abilities. Anyone interested in participation or volunteer opportunities is invited to the “Get the Scoop on SCOPE” ice cream social on Friday, May 2, 5:30-7 pm at the Izaak Walton Clubhouse, 18 S. Sunset Street. The event is free, but registration is required at bit.ly/scoop-scope.
Strider Balance Bike Race
Get ready for the cutest race on two wheels! At the Strider Glider Rough Rider bike event on Saturday, May 3, young riders ages 2-5 will glide to the finish line at Willow Farm Park, 901 S Fordham St. Bring your child’s balance bike and helmet (required). This free Crime Free Housing class is all about helping property owners, managers, and their employees make their communities safer and cut down on crime. Free Summer Programs at the Youth Center
Longmont’s Children, Youth and Families division offers free summer programming for youth aged 11-17 at the Longmont Youth Center (1050 Lashley Street). Beginning May 25, youth are invited to join in on the fun every weekday from 2-5:30 pm. Activities include park visits, bicycling, water sports, gardening, recording studio activities, nutrition and health education, a theme park visit, a camping trip, and much more; all at no cost. The fourth phase of Longmont’s Universal Recycling Ordinance (URO) will begin implementation on June 1, 2025, requiring organics (composting) collection required for select business types that produce food waste.
