Annual Water Line Flushing
Each spring, City of Longmont water utilities staff flush the main water lines to keep water quality at its highest and to ensure that fire hydrants are operational. Residents may notice low water pressure, discolored water, or no water for short periods of time when flushing is taking place in their neighborhood. We recommend that residents limit water use and particularly avoid using hot water when flushing is occurring in their immediate area. Visit LongmontColorado.gov/water for the 2016 flushing schedule and map or call 303-651-8468.
Free Pharmaceutical Take Back Event
Don’t flush medications down the sink or toilet. Drugs can pass through the wastewater treatment plant and enter St. Vrain Creek. Bring your unused medication to Longmont United Hospital at 1950 Mountain View Avenue between 8 am and 2 pm on Saturday, April 30, to be disposed of properly. All prescription and over-the-counter medications are accepted from residents. For more information, visit LongmontColorado.gov/environment or call 303-651-8376.
