Water Line Flushing Continues
Every spring, City of Longmont water utilities staff flush the main water lines to keep water quality high and to ensure that fire hydrants are operational. The benefits far outweigh the relatively small amount of water released during the flushing program. Residents may notice low water pressure, discolored water, or no water for short periods when flushing is taking place in their neighborhood. Please limit water use and avoid using hot water when flushing is occurring in your immediate area. For more information, visit LongmontColorado.gov/water or call 303-651-8468.
Free Pharmaceutical Take Back Event
Don’t flush medications down the sink or toilet. Drugs can pass through the wastewater treatment plant and enter the St. Vrain. Bring your unused medication to Longmont United Hospital at 1950 Mountain View Avenue between 8 am and 2 pm on Saturday, April 25, to be disposed of properly. All medications from residents are accepted. For more information, visit LongmontColorado.gov or call 303-651-8376.

Citywide Spring Sweep Underway
Each spring, the City of Longmont conducts a citywide street sweeping operation to remove dirt, debris and pollutants that build up during the winter months. Keeping the roadway in front of your house free of large objects and obstructions is the best way to assist street sweeping crews’ clean-up efforts. Visit bit.ly/sweepinglongmont to find out when the sweeper will be in your neighborhood.
Would You Like to Serve Your Community?

Annual Compost Bin Sale
Every year, in honor of Earth Day, City of Longmont Trash and Recycling offers residents a special opportunity to purchase backyard compost bins at the Waste Diversion Center, 140 Martin Street. Composting is an easy way to convert common yard and food waste into effective fertilizer and save valuable landfill space. For details visit LongmontColorado.gov or call 303-651-8416.
Beware of Online Scam
An online popup ad asking viewers to share their NextLight™ experiences “for a chance to earn a prize” did not come from Longmont Power & Communications and is believed to be a scam. A NextLight customer reported seeing the ad on Tuesday. The ad was titled “Longmont Power and Communication NextLight Survey” and had a reported address of 2015.lsp-survey.com. According to the customer, the instructions read “Tell us about your experience to earn a prize. All are worth at least $70.” It is not uncommon for an unsolicited survey to be an identity theft scam. It is OK to call LPC to make sure that a communication came from the utility at 303-651-8386.
