Longmont Events Canceled Through May 31 and Facilities Remain Closed Until Further Notice
Based on Governor Jared Polis’ statement that county health officials may enact more protective standards than those contained in the Stay at Home and Safer at Home orders, and Boulder County’s subsequent extension of the Stay at Home order to May 8, the City of Longmont’s facilities will remain closed pending additional guidance from Boulder County Public Health. In addition, all scheduled City events and programming are canceled through May 31. Read the news release.
GolfLongmont City Golf Courses Reopen
The City of Longmont Golf Services has received approval from the Boulder County Public Health department (BCPH) to continue operations while the Stay At Home Order issued on March 25, 2020 is in effect. This approval is contingent upon our GolfLongmont courses adopting a strict set of policies set forth by BCPH. The policies are designed to ensure the health and safety of our patrons and to maintain proper physical distancing. Read the news release.
Serve Longmont on an Advisory Board
Serving on a City of Longmont advisory board is one way to give back to your community. Residents are invited to serve as official advisors to the Longmont City Council on any of several boards and commissions. The committees advise City Council on a variety of issues that affect the safety, economy and quality of life of Longmont’s residents and businesses. Board members generally spend a few hours each month preparing for and attending meetings. To apply, you must have been a registered voter of Longmont and resided inside Longmont city limits for at least one year prior to being appointed. Visit LongmontColorado.gov/board-application for more information. The application deadline is 5 pm on Friday, May 8. Call 303-651-8649 with questions.
Complete Your Census Now
A complete count of all Longmont residents is vital to Longmont’s future. If we miss just 100 residents, Longmont could lose almost $1.5 million dollars in federal funding over the next decade. The census count also determines our representation in Congress, and Colorado is expected to gain one seat – if everyone is counted. You can complete your census online, over the phone, or by mail. Your responses are protected by law, and confidentiality is guaranteed. Don’t wait. Visit 2020census.gov or call 844-330-2020. Be sure that everyone counts in Longmont!
Recreation is Hiring Awesome Summer Staff

There is a need especially for those age 18 and older for Day Camp Leader positions that work 7 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. The hiring process starts with your application and interview.
