Coffee with Council is This Saturday 
Longmont City Council will host Coffee with Council from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, April 30, at Big Daddy Bagels, 1940 Ionosphere Street. At this event, you can talk informally with at least two council members on any topic of your choice, and the coffee’s on us! Mayor Coombs and Council Member Moore are scheduled to attend. Free Pharmaceutical Take Back Event
Don’t flush medications down the sink or toilet. Drugs can pass through the wastewater treatment plant and enter St. Vrain Creek. Bring your unused medication to Longmont United Hospital at 1950 Mountain View Avenue between 8 am and 2 pm on Saturday, April 30, to be disposed of properly. Longmont Cinco de Mayo Celebration Postponed
The Cinco de Mayo celebration has been postponed two weeks due to cold and wet weather. Celebrate Longmont’s Latino community at this family-friendly event from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday, May 14, at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Avenue. Enjoy food, shopping, live entertainment, a lowrider car show, the famous chihuahua beauty contest, and free activities for all ages. Visit LongmontCincodeMayo.com for details. 

Outdoor Warning System Test
The City’s Outdoor Emergency Warning System (OEWS) is being tested at 10 am on Monday, May 2. The system will be tested the first Monday of every month through August. Other than for testing, the system will be used only to notify the community when immediate action should be taken. If you hear the sirens and it isn’t the first Monday of the month at 10 am, seek shelter immediately and tune to a Denver radio or TV station for information.

Mental Health Community Conversations: Action Forum
Nearly 200 people participated in one of the community conversations on mental health that were held in March and April. The public is invited to attend an Action Forum from 4 to 6 pm on Monday, May 9, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road, to learn about the common themes and issues that emerged from these conversations and to help set the direction for our next steps as a community. See City Projects and Programs at Open House
Plan to attend an open house between 5 and 7 pm on Monday, May 16, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road, to learn about several very important planning and construction projects in Longmont during 2016. They include NextLight broadband, Resilient St. Vrain, Sustainability Plan, Capital Improvement Program, Park Development & Renewals, and more! This event also kicks off National Public Works Week and will feature information on a variety of Public Works & Natural Resources services and programs. Free Landfill Drop Day
The City of Longmont is offering residents an opportunity to take one level pickup load free of charge to the Front Range Landfill at 1830 Weld County Rd 5 in Erie from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday, May 7. Loads must be covered and secured for transport; oversize loads and second loads will be billed accordingly. Nature Art Show and Sale
Enjoy the talents of local artists from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, May 7, at the historic Coffin family homestead at Sandstone Park, 3001 Sandstone Drive. Bring your friends and your gift lists, and enjoy nature through crafts, woodwork, photography, paintings and more! Admission is free. Reserve Your Union Reservoir Campsite Online
Longmont’s Union Reservoir is now open for camping through October 31. There are 28 designated RV sites that overlook the picturesque reservoir and 14 tent sites located close to the swim beach and playground. Camping is available on Friday and Saturday nights and is extended on holiday weekends. To reserve a campsite or for more information, visit LongmontColorado.gov and search for “Union.”  

Main Street to Close Overnight at St. Vrain Creek Bridge for Girder Installation
South Main Street is scheduled to be closed overnight between First Avenue and Delaware Avenue Wednesday, May 4, and Thursday, May 5, for delivery and installation of girders for the west side of Main Street Bridge at St. Vrain Creek. The lane closures are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each day. Detour routes such as South Pratt Parkway and Martin Street are recommended during these night closures of Main Street Bridge.
