Free Community Night: HawkQuest – Owls
Bring your picnic, chairs and blankets to enjoy the scenery, lawn games and coloring table from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, August 20, at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors & Learning Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive. The main event, HawkQuest – Owls of the World, begins at 6:30 pm and features live owls from five continents. Volunteer Fair at the Library
Head to the Library at 409 4th Avenue between 10 am and noon on Saturday, August 17, to learn how you can change the world by volunteering in our community. The Volunteer Fair for adults and teens showcases local nonprofits and volunteer groups. Find out what they do and how you can help. No registration is necessary; just stop by the Library and discover the opportunities that await you.
Children and their families are invited to learn about birds that travel between wintering grounds in Mexico and Central and South America to nesting places in the U.S. in this bilingual program from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, August 24, at the Longmont Library, 409 4th Avenue. Participants also will receive a bird poster and other birdy prizes. This program is best for children ages 8 to 11 and their families but is open to all. Register online at bit.ly/LibKids. Recreation Facility Closures

A free walk-in Legal Clinic will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, August 27, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. You can speak to attorneys at no charge about immigration law, criminal law, family law, collections, bankruptcy, employment law, fair housing, landlord/tenant law, consumer issues, personal injury, probate, and Social Security.
