RTD: Zero Fare for Better Air in August
As a result of new state legislation, all RTD services are free throughout the month of August to help improve air quality. While everyone has access to fare-free transit on all RTD local and Access-a-Ride buses year-round within Longmont, the regional and express buses in and out of Longmont still require fares or passes. In August, routes like the BOLT between Longmont and Boulder, and the LD bus services between Longmont and Denver will be free. Visit rtd-denver.com to plan your trip.

This event is fun for the whole family with entertainment and activities including a dunk tank, mobile arcade and more! The event will end with a concert featuring local band The Pamlico Sound, champions of high-energy, authentic funk and soul music. Visit longmontchamber.org/unity for more information.
Mayor’s Meetup cancelled
The Mayor’s Meetup, originally scheduled for September 10, has been cancelled in order to prepare for a December session on transportation. This meeting is the third in a series hosted by Longmont Mayor Joan Peck and Mayor Pro Tem Aren Rodriguez. The meetings are intended for Longmont residents to talk about specific topics that are important to the community. The issue of homelessness was discussed at the first meeting held on March 12, 2022 and affordable housing was discussed at the second meeting held on June 4, 2022. It’s expected that public transportation challenges will be discussed at the third meeting later this year, Saturday, December 3, 9 to 10 am. For more information contact the Longmont City Manager’s Office at 303-651-8601.
Prepare for emergencies with CERT classes
The next Longmont Public Safety CERT class starts September 10, 2022 and is being held on three consecutive Saturdays. Disasters can severely restrict and overwhelm emergency responders, and in some cases, communities can be cut off from outside emergency support. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training teaches community members how to prepare for emergencies. Team members learn to take care of themselves and to help others in their communities until first responders arrive. There is no cost to attend. There are 30 seats available. Register at http://bit.ly/2Iw97E5.
