Winter Reading BINGO Begins This Week

Read your way through cozy season! Winter Reading BINGO starts Dec. 19 at 9 am. Pick up boards at the Library or download them at reading bingo online. Kids and teens can play until Jan. 5; adults play through Feb. 28. Adults who black out the board will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Downtown Longmont or Regal Cinema gift card. Holiday Guest Pass

Recreation’s Holiday Guest Pass makes it easy and affordable for families and visitors to stay active and entertained during winter break. For just $25-$65, the passholder can invite 1, 3, or 7 people to the Recreation centers and Ice Pavilion from Dec. 19, 2025-Jan. 5, 2026. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Training

If you enjoy swimming, here’s a job opportunity for you! During winter break from Dec. 29 through Jan. 3, learn the skills and techniques needed to teach American Red Cross swim lessons for the City of Longmont and apply to work at our pools. Updates Coming to 2026 Utility Rates

Beginning Jan. 1, Longmont utility customers will see adjustments to their water, electric and sanitation rates in order to maintain their reliable, high-quality service. For a typical household, these changes will come to an additional $13.08/month on the overall utility bill when added together. To help offset the rate change, the City has also increased the rebates available through Longmont CAReS for qualifying residents. New Source for 2026 Water Rebates

Starting Jan. 1, 2026, the City of Longmont will be taking over the water efficiency rebate programs currently offered by Efficiency Works. This includes rebates for high-efficiency toilets, ENERGY STAR clothes washers, sprinkler system equipment and more. To learn more about these programs, visit online.
