A Century of Jazz in Colorado

Vision Zero Task Force Meeting

Has your life or the life of someone you know been impacted by a roadway crash? Are you passionate about creating safer local transportation systems for everyone? Join us for a Vision Zero Task Force meeting Thursday, Feb. 12 at 6 pm at the Senior Center. Art & Sip: Watercolor Quilt Square

Celebrate Black History Month and the rich heritage and vibrant artistry of Gee’s Bend, Alabama’s improvisational quilts through the delicate and expressive medium of watercolor and collage. Winter Nature Friday at Sandstone

Families can enjoy a winter nature walk, craft and story time from 9 am-noon Friday, Feb. 13 (a SVVSD no-school day) at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive. Valentine’s Day Late Skate

Bring your special plus one to the Longmont Ice Pavilion, 725 8th Ave., from 4:30-6:30pm on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, and take advantage of the BOGO skate rental special! Free Creative Movement Classes

Everyone should have access to the healing power of the arts. Once a month at the Library, Mimi Ferrie from Anima Arts leads free creative movement classes for kids. Kids use dance, music, games, stories and props to explore themes like nature, science and adventure. Drop in this Sunday, Feb. 15 from 2-2:30 pm. Best for 3–5-year-olds with caregivers. Questions? Valentine’s Day “First Date” Musical

Join the Longmont Museum for an unforgettable evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day Friday, Feb 13, Saturday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 15! Youth Life Skills Fair, Sunday March 1

The City of Longmont’s Children, Youth, and Families division has teamed up with the St. Vrain Valley School District to host a Youth Life Skills Fair. Hands-on workshops for youth aged 11-17 will cover health, practical skills, job opportunities, and City resources. The fair offers a festive atmosphere with games, prizes, a live DJ, and nearby food trucks offering food and beverages for purchase. The free event happens Sunday, March 1, from 11am to 3 pm at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont. Pre-register at Youth Life Skills Fair online to make check-in quicker on March 1.

 

Apply: Public Safety Review Panel

The Longmont City Manager is accepting applications (through February 27) for volunteer positions on the Longmont Public Safety Professional Standards Review Panel. This panel reviews investigations of public safety employees conducted by the Professional Standards Unit and provides recommendations to the Chief of Public Safety. Hazardous Waste

Did you know Longmont community members can dispose of hazardous waste for free at the Boulder County Hazardous Materials Management Facility? Left-over paint, batteries, fertilizers, herbicides, household cleaners, and other toxic products can pollute waterways if not disposed of properly.
