New Short-term Rental Permits Now Available
All short-term rentals in Longmont require a short-term rental permit and a sales and use tax license. Short-term rentals, such as those through Airbnb, HomeAway, VRBO, etc., are for fewer than 30 days of an entire dwelling or of individual rooms in an owner-occupied dwelling. Community Conversation on Gun Violence
The community is invited to the second Safety AND Respect conversation on action planning to end the risk of gun violence in Longmont from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, February 27, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. Ride the Ski Bus for 55+ Discount at Eldora
Eldora Mountain Resort and RTD have partnered with the Longmont Senior Center to offer ski pass discounts to age 55+ and 70+ residents and neighbors. The Ski Ride meets at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue, at 8:45 am on Tuesdays. Ski Pass vouchers and bus tickets are payable in cash or check only. A one-time $5 RFID lift pass is required and is payable to Eldora; bring your RFID card each week. Prices range from $10 to $89. Call 303-651-8411 for more information.

Smart Devices for Health and Fitness
Learn how to put your fitness device to use from 1:30 to 3:30 pm on Thursday, February 28, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. Wearing a fitness band, carrying your smartphone and using other health accessories can give you accurate and timely health information to monitor your daily activities. Bring your device to this session. The cost is $2 resident/$3 nonresident.

Community Conversations on Mental Health
The community is invited to participate in one of four Supporting Action for Mental Health (SAM) conversations to identify next steps to help shape the future of SAM. SAM is a network of local government, organizations, and residents working together to support individuals experiencing mental health issues in Longmont. Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Take boxed or bagged papers to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Friday, March 1. This is for residential documents only; no business documents accepted. Please also take ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Longmont Ice Pavilion Closes Soon
The end of open skating at the Longmont Ice Pavilion at Roosevelt Park will be Wednesday, March 13, weather permitting. The annual Puck O’ the Irish adult hockey tournament follows March 14-17, and the public is invited to watch these exciting 4-on-4 hockey games. No entrance fee for spectators during the tournament.
