City Council Open Forum
The January 19 city council meeting, beginning at 7 pm in the Council Chambers at 350 Kimbark Street, will be an Open Forum for residents to talk for 5 minutes each to council members about any topic on their minds. This is the only agenda item for this meeting; plan to arrive a little early to put your name on the list of speakers. Expect Lane Changes and Closures on Main Street Bridge Replacement Work
Periodic lane changes and closures can be expected along South Main Street throughout January as work continues on the Main Street Bridge Replacement at St. Vrain Creek. Work to relocate various utility lines currently attached to the bridge will continue throughout the month.
Problem Solving for Landlords and Tenants
On Wednesday, January 13, the Longmont Landlord Alliance will present Master Police Officer David Kennedy, who will discuss problem-solving for landlords and tenants from the viewpoint of a Longmont patrol officer. New! Itty Bitty SCOPE City
On the second Tuesday of the month, January through April, there will be a SCOPE version of the popular Itty Bitty City at the St. Vrain Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Avenue. These sessions for children with special needs provide a smaller, less overwhelming opportunity for free play and socialization. Itty Bitty SCOPE City is for children age 6 months to 6 years with a parent. The drop-in fee is $2 per child, and parents must supervise their children. Ask the Trainer at the Memorial Building
Join us at the St. Vrain Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Avenue, from 10 to 11 am on the second Wednesday of every month to talk to a personal trainer about your fitness questions, concerns, or workouts. Get a new exercise to strengthen your target muscle group, clarify proper form on a specific piece of equipment, or find out if a personal training session might be a good fit for you. Winter Windows to Wellness – Free Admission!
Chase away the winter blues and blahs while you perk up your senses at this informative health and wellness fair from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, January 16, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. Marketplace vendors will offer a variety of natural products, jewelry, and much more! Sign up for 15-minute sessions with an alternative wellness practitioner/holistic healer for $5 each – please bring small bills.
