Coffee with Council 
Longmont City Council will host Coffee with Council from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, July 27, at Ute Creek Golf Course, 2000 Ute Creek Drive. At this event, you can talk informally with at least two council members on any topic of your choice, and the coffee’s on us! Council Members Martin and Rodriguez are scheduled to attend. Provide Your Opinions About Main Street
Work on the Main Street Corridor Plan continues! The City has developed detailed recommendations for land use, transportation, and redevelopment, and we’d like to know what you think. Your feedback will contribute to final recommendations for the North Main, Midtown, Old Town and South Main areas. Pops With A Cop
It’s warming up, kids are out of school, and we’d like to meet you! From 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, July 27, Longmont Police will host Pops with a Cop at Thompson Park, 420 Bross Street. This is a chance for you to meet your Longmont police officers and ask your questions. The first 150 children to arrive will receive a free ice pop in partnership with Big Top Pops.

Backyard Wildlife Family Workshop
Join volunteer naturalists from 10:30 am to noon on Saturday, July 27, at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors & Learning Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive, for a fun, hands-on outdoor program to learn about some of the animals that call Sandstone home. Afterward, tour the historic ranch house and discover the human history of the site. There is a $2/child, $4/adult suggested donation collected at the event. Fun for Kids and Teens at the Library
Children age 10 and younger are invited to Maker Monday from 2 to 4 pm on July 22. Teens and tweens can have fun at the Dungeons & Dragons Drop-in Adventure from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, July 23. Live! at the Library on Thursday, July 25, features singer-songwriter Bradley Weaver and some fun sing-alongs. On Friday, July 26, bring the whole family for the free Friday Family Film “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.” Tickets are handed out beginning at 1:30 pm. LMNOPuppets will be at the library from 1 to 2:30 pm on Saturday, July 27, for an interactive puppet show and puppet-making tutorial. These programs are held at the Library at 409 4th Avenue. Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Take boxed or bagged papers to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, July 20. This is for residential documents only; no business documents accepted. Please also take ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Bike Cruise and Concert
Enjoy a guided bike ride on Longmont’s trails at 5 pm on Thursday, July 25, leaving from the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. Then, at 6:30, take in a concert in the Museum’s courtyard with Blake Brown & the American Dust Choir. Be sure to take a lawn chair and a picnic dinner. Public Safety Citizens Academy
The Longmont Public Safety Department offers a 10-week Citizens Academy to give Longmont residents a better understanding of what first responders do. This is a weekly, hands-on class led by firefighters and police officers. Classes begin Wednesday, September 4, and the deadline to apply is Thursday, August 15. Participants must be 18 years old. The class is free but space is limited, so don’t wait. Call 303-774-4440 for more information.

Help Keep Our Alleys Clear and Safe
This year’s very moist spring has contributed to overgrowth in alleys that now need extra attention and maintenance. If you live on a block with an alley, please trim back trees and shrubs so that City service vehicles can safely access your area. Per Longmont Municipal Code, trees should be trimmed to a 15-feet clearance off the ground. Thank you for doing your part to keep our City services running safely and effectively.
