Coffee with Council This Saturday 
Longmont City Council will host Coffee with Council from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, July 21, at Twin Peaks Golf Course, 1200 Cornell Drive. You can talk informally with at least two council members on any topic of your choice, and the coffee’s on us! Council members Finley and Martin are scheduled to attend. 

Gather, Honor and Celebrate Flood Progress
Join the Longmont City Council, City staff, and the community from 4 to 5 pm on Thursday, July 26, to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the 2013 flood. Celebrate Longmont’s progress on flood recovery and protection, and officially reopen the St. Vrain Greenway east to Sandstone Ranch. Gather on the trail behind Best Buy, 210 Ken Pratt Boulevard, where the Rotary Clubs of Longmont, Twin Peaks and St. Vrain will be on hand to rededicate the Rotary Centennial Bridge. Save Money and Enjoy Your Commute Again
Boulder County is helping residents and commuters to have a happier and healthier commute by organizing discounts on over 40 models of electric bikes. This is a limited time deal ending July 31, 2018. Longmont Seeks Human Agency Funding Requests
The City of Longmont is seeking requests for proposals for 2019 Human Service Agency Funding from private or public, nonprofit or for profit, nongovernmental or governmental agencies that serve Longmont residents. Agencies must serve primarily low- and moderate-income Longmont residents. All agencies must be able to document that their services benefit a significant number of Longmont residents. Summer Fun for Kids at the Library
Start the week at Maker Mondays from 2 to 4 pm on July 23. On Tuesday and Wednesday, enjoy a special storytime, Backyard Nature & Science for Families, at 10:15 am. From 10 to 10:45 am on Thursday, July 26, Mike Schneider performs Pint-Size Polkas, part of the Live! at the Library series. Then, on Friday, July 27, see the free Friday Family Film “Monsters, Inc.”; tickets are handed out beginning at 1:30 pm. These programs are held at the Library at 409 4th Avenue. Finally, don’t miss the bilingual Farmstand Storytime with songs and games from noon to 2 pm on Sunday, July 29, at Ollin Farms, 8627 N. 95th Street. Backyard Wildlife at Sandstone Ranch
From 10:30 am to noon on Saturday, July 28, join volunteer naturalists at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors & Learning Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive, for a fun, hands-on outdoor program for all ages about animals seen there. Plan Now for National Night Out
From 6 to 9 pm on Tuesday, August 7, neighborhoods throughout Longmont will join together for the 35th annual National Night Out (NNO) crime and drug prevention event. During NNO, Longmont residents will lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outside with neighbors. Many neighborhoods plan events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, contests and youth activities. An NNO Planning Kit is available at LongmontColorado.gov/PublicSafety (search “National Night Out”) to help you jump start local activities. National Night Out is cosponsored by the Longmont departments of Public Safety and Community and Neighborhood Resources. Power Up Learning With LPC’s Kids Corner
Elementary-age children get a charge out of learning with the new online Kids Corner from Longmont Power & Communications. This addition to LPC’s website shares fun and useful electric information for kids, including how to stay safe, where power comes from, and even Longmont’s own century-plus of electric history. Recruiting On-scene Victim Advocates
The Longmont Police Department Victim Services Program is seeking volunteer victim advocates to provide crisis intervention, support and referrals to victims of crime and traumatic incidents. Consider volunteering if you are interested in learning about crisis intervention and the criminal justice system. The application deadline is August 31, and training begins September 11.
