Coffee with Council 
Longmont City Council will host Coffee with Council from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, July 27, at Ute Creek Golf Course, 2000 Ute Creek Drive. At this event, you can talk informally with at least two council members on any topic of your choice, and the coffee’s on us! Council Members Martin and Rodriguez are scheduled to attend. New Downtown Smoking Restrictions 
As of July 22, smoke-free areas have been expanded into the following locations Downtown: Main Street between 1st and Longs Peak avenues, on the avenues from the corners at Main Street to the east and west alleys, and in the breezeways on the east and west sides of Main Street. Signage and public education will take place over the next few months. If you smoke, please dispose of cigarettes and devices properly. Senior Workshop on Managing Digital Files
Bring your laptop computer or digital device for a one-on-one coaching session to help you safely store and organize your important documents and photos. Coaching sessions are available from 1:30 to 4:30 pm on Wednesday, July 31, at the Lashley Street Station, 1200 Lashley Street. The cost is $5 for residents and $6 for nonresidents. Pops With A Cop
It’s warming up, kids are out of school, and we’d like to meet you! From 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, July 27, Longmont Police will host Pops with a Cop at Thompson Park, 420 Bross Street. This is a chance for you to meet your Longmont police officers and ask your questions. The first 150 children to arrive will receive a free ice pop in partnership with Big Top Pops.

Backyard Wildlife Family Workshop
Join volunteer naturalists from 10:30 am to noon on Saturday, July 27, at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors & Learning Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive, for a fun, hands-on outdoor program to learn about some of the animals that call Sandstone home. Afterward, tour the historic ranch house and discover the human history of the site. There is a $2/child, $4/adult suggested donation collected at the event. Free Landfill Drop Day
The City of Longmont lets residents take one level pickup load free of charge to the Front Range Landfill at 1830 Weld County Rd 5 in Erie from 7 am to 2 pm on Saturday, August 3. Loads must be covered and secured for transport; oversize loads and second loads will be billed. Get Ready Now for National Night Out
The annual National Night Out crime-prevention event will be held from 6 to 9 pm on Tuesday, August 6, in neighborhoods throughout Longmont. Many neighborhoods host block parties and cookouts that include parades, flashlight walks, and youth activities. Volunteer for Beaver Tree Painting
Volunteer for the City of Longmont’s beaver tree painting from 9 am to noon on Wednesday, August 7. This fun, family-friendly event is for ages eight and older. Beavers can be a big help creating and restoring wetlands, but native trees that enhance our urban riparian areas need to be protected from beavers. Help us apply special beaver protection paint to establishing native trees in a local nature area. Wear old clothes because the paint doesn’t wash out. Get out and play! Registration is ongoing for Longmont Recreation & Golf Services’ adult fall sports leagues for coed kickball, indoor volleyball, outdoor grass coed volleyball, flag football, softball, and basketball. Fun for Kids and Teens at the Library
Children age 10 and younger are invited to Maker Monday from 2 to 4 pm on July 29. Kids in 6th through 12th grade can have fun at the laid-back Teen Café from 2 to 4 pm on Tuesday, July 30. Then, the little engineers and architects of the LEGO® Club will meet from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, August 2.
