It’s Time for Rhythm on the River
Embrace the cool evening air and enjoy activities and night light fun at Rhythm on the River, Longmont’s signature zero-waste event, as we celebrate the environment, the community, art and music from 6 to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday, July 13 and 14, at Roger’s Grove, 220 Hover Street. Black lights throughout the venue will fluoresce white clothing, and musical highlights include Flow Tribe and Head for the Hills along with other popular acts. Create your own art, play in the Dizzy’s Fun Center inflatables, paddle and climb at the Outdoor Adventure Land, and enjoy great food, beverages and fun for kids of all ages. Draft Open Space Master Plan to be Reviewed by Longmont City Council on July 10
The department of Public Works & Natural Resources is scheduled to present the City’s Updated Open Space Master Plan to the Longmont City Council during its regular council meeting on Tuesday, July 10 for their review and adoption. The intent of this comprehensive plan is to evaluate the Longmont community’s open space needs so the City can proactively plan for the future.

City Council Open Forum
The July 17 city council meeting, beginning at 7 pm in the Council Chambers at 350 Kimbark Street, will be an Open Forum for residents to talk for 5 minutes each to council members about any topic on their minds. This is the only agenda item for this meeting; plan to arrive a little early to put your name on the list of speakers. Landlord Alliance: Meth Remediation
From 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, July 11, attorney Melanie Granberg will discuss the state statute governing methamphetamine-contaminated properties and how to deal with them at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. Tour Longmont’s Public Art
Art in Public Places will celebrate Art on the Move 2018-19 with two tours of new artwork followed by a dedication celebration on Saturday, July 14. At 2 pm join the five-mile StART Biking Tour or, at 4 pm, get in on the StART Walking Tour of public art downtown. Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Take boxed or bagged papers to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, July 14. This is for residential documents only; no business documents accepted. Please also take ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Register Now for Children’s Bike Rodeo
The City of Longmont will host a bicycle rodeo for children ages 4-10 from 9 am to noon on Tuesday, July 17, at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Avenue. Kids must bring their own bikes and helmets, but helmets will be provided for those who don’t have one. Participants will learn to conduct quick bike safety checks, as well as bike handling skills and age-appropriate map reading skills, and the first 100 to register will receive a free goody bag.
