Rhythm on the River Reversed!
Get your glow on at Rhythm Reversed – a new twist on Longmont’s signature zero-waste event, Rhythm on the River, as we celebrate the environment, the community, art and music from 5 to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday, July 8 and 9, at Roger’s Grove, 220 Hover Road. The new Greenway Glow (Roger’s River Run) begins at 7:30 pm on Friday. Musical highlights include Funkiphino, White Water Ramble, and The Burroughs, along with other great acts throughout the weekend. Create your own art, play in the Dizzy’s Fun Center inflatables, paddle and climb at the Outdoor Adventure Land, and enjoy great food, beverages and fun for kids of all ages. Outdoor Warning System Test on Monday
The City’s Outdoor Emergency Warning System (OEWS) will be tested at 10 am on Monday, July 11. Other than for testing, the system will be used only to notify the community when immediate action should be taken. If you hear the sirens and it isn’t during a test period, seek shelter immediately and tune to a Denver radio or TV station for information.
Landlord Alliance: A View from the Bench
From 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, July 13, the Longmont Landlord Alliance will present Judge Noel Blum, who presides over evictions in Longmont, to discuss eviction issues and eviction law. This program is free and open to the public at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. For information call 303-774-4384 or email SusanSpaulding@LongmontColorado.gov.
Park Concerts are On the Road Again!
Bring the kids, bring a picnic, and enjoy free outdoor concerts in neighborhoods throughout Longmont this summer. Named Westword’s 2013 and 2014 “BestCountry Band,” Bonnie & Th e Clydes will perform at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, July 12, at Blue Skies Park, 1520 Mountain Drive. Please take a chair or blanket to sit on. The City of Longmont is conducting a survey regarding options for tennis and pickle ball at Hover Park. Don’t wait to provide your preference; the one-minute survey closes at 5 pm on Tuesday, July 12. Visit surveymonkey.com/r/YD3CVSH to let the City know what you think.
Bug Songs at the Library
Who doesn’t love a good bug song? Take a break with the kids from 10 to 10:45 am on Thursday, July 14, for a fun musical performance of Bug Songs with Tom Cornwell, always a favorite with children, at the Longmont Public Library, 409 4th Avenue. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the fun on the library’s west patio. Registration is not required.
Art on the Move Dedication Celebration
The Art in Public Places Commission will host a free bike tour of the new Art on the Move artworks beginning at 2:30 pm on Saturday, July 16, beginning at St. Stephen’s Plaza, 500 Main Street. Following the tour, the public is invited to a dedication celebration at 5 pm, also in St. Stephen’s Plaza, where you can meet some of the artists and learn more about Longmont’s public art. Recycle personal documents safely and securely at this free event. Bring boxed or bagged papers to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, July 16. Also bring ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Th is event is for residential documents only; business materials will not be accepted.
