The Longmont City Manager has issued an emergency order mandating no tubing, swimming, boating, or other form of watercraft or other activity on St. Vrain and Left Hand creeks within Longmont city limits until further notice. The higher-than-normal runoff combined with unusually heavy rain has led to dangerous conditions. Find information on flood safety, as well as local creek conditions, at www.bit.ly/floodpreparedness.

Storms can also leave behind damaged power lines, so if you happen to spot any damage, please call LPC at 303-651-8386.
Slow the Flow with Water Conservation
There are lots of ways to save water on your lawn this summer. For example, don’t water between 10 am and 6 pm when temperatures are highest. By watering in the morning or evening you will decrease the amount of water lost to evaporation and wind. If you want help putting this and other water conservation tips into action, schedule a free Slow the Flow Assessment with the Center for ReSource Conservation. For details visit conservationcenter.org/slow-the-flow-2.
