Register for “The Reunited States of America”
Our country has rarely been more politically divided than it is now; partisanship is running higher than most can remember. What’s a country to do? Author Mark Gerzon has a plan for bridging the partisan divide and reuniting our fractured populace, and a lot of reviewers think he’s onto something. Come hear what he has to say and decide for yourself from 7 to 8 pm on Thursday, July 20, at the Longmont Public Library, 409 4th Avenue. Register online at bit.ly/LibPrograms. No email or internet service? Call 303-651-8472 to register.
Please Mind the Signs!
Longmont Parking Enforcement reminds drivers to pay attention to signs in the downtown area regarding parking. Not only is parking time-limited in many areas, there also are occasional street closures for events and concerts when vehicles must be moved from on-street parking by a specific time. Signs will always be posted to alert the public to these special parking limits. It is also important to not park in handicap spaces or the access lanes, which are marked with diagonal stripes next to these spaces. Parking Enforcement does not want to ticket or tow your car, so please check the signs and obey the parking regulations.
This Summer, Plug Into Renewable Energy
The heat is on … and so are air conditioners, refrigerators, and many other devices meant to make a Colorado summer more bearable. That’s why Longmont Power & Communications keeps its energy rates among the lowest in Colorado. And with about 30% of that energy coming from renewable sources – including a new solar facility – “comfortable” and “affordable” can still mean “sustainable.” To help support these efforts, consider joining LPC’s Renewable Power Purchase Program, allowing you to source your home’s energy use from renewables for an additional 3.12 cents per kilowatt-hour. To sign up, call 303-651-8386 or sign up online at bit.ly/2sAO3rd. Staying cool never felt so cool.
