Free Downtown Concert for SVVSD Reunion
Enjoy the second Downtown Summer Concert of 2018 featuring Last Men On Earth from 6 to 9:30 pm on Friday, June 8, at 4th Avenue and Kimbark Street, in conjunction with the fifth annual SVVSD All High Schools Reunion. Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Take boxed or bagged papers to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, June 9. This is for residential documents only; no business documents accepted. Please also take ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Enjoy summer fun all week at the Longmont Public Library, 409 4th Avenue. Start off with a make-and-take craft at Maker Mondays from 2 to 4 pm on Monday, June 11. Then, relax on the west patio from 10 to 10:45 am on Thursday, June 14, with Mad Science, part of the Live! at the Library series. Head back to the library on Friday, June 15, for the free Friday Family Film “Moana”; tickets are handed out beginning at 1:30 pm. Free Guided Bird Walks at Sandstone Ranch
Local birder Carl Starace will guide you around the Sandstone Ranch loop trail at 8:30 am on Tuesday, June 12, and identify many bird species that call Sandstone home. The walk begins at the covered picnic shelter at the southeast corner of the soccer fields at Sandstone Ranch, 3001 Sandstone Drive. No registration is required, and participants should bring binoculars and dress for the weather. The next walk is scheduled for July 10.
Landlord Alliance Training: Meet the DA
From 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, June 13, Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty will discuss how the DA’s office is working with rental communities and landlords, as well as other new initiatives of his office, including consumer and immigrant protection, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. Downtown Concerts Continue
From 6 to 9:30 pm on Friday, June 15, enjoy the Downtown Summer Concert featuring three of Longmont’s talented female singer-songwriters at 4th Avenue and Kimbark Street. Bonnie Sims of Bonnie and the Clydes, Jessica Eppler of Clandestine Amigo, and Taylor Shae of Taylor Shae Music will perform. Also enjoy kids’ activities, dancing, prizes and more. Free Rockies Skills Challenge
Youth ages 6-13 as of December 31, 2018, will compete in throwing, running and hitting at the Free Rockies Skills Challenge from 9 to 10:30 am on Saturday, June 16, at the Sandstone Ranch ball fields, 2525 E. Highway 119 (Zlaten Drive entrance near Walmart). Boys and girls compete separately in four age divisions, and winners in each age and gender group advance to a sectional, then state competition.
