Downtown Longmont Parking and Access Study
The Longmont Downtown Development Authority, City of Longmont and Boulder County are conducting a Parking and Access Study for Downtown Longmont. The first step in that process is conducting a public survey. The purpose of this brief questionnaire is to provide the community with an opportunity to share experiences, perceptions, ideas and concerns related to accessing Downtown Longmont using the transportation method of your choice: car, bicycle, motorcycle/scooter, public transit and/or as a pedestrian. Please access the survey at the downtown Longmont web site: www.downtownlongmont.com 


Free Shredding Event on Friday

Recycle personal documents safely and securely at this free event. Bring boxed or bagged papers to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Friday, March 4. Also bring ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. This event is for residential documents only; business materials will not be accepted. “A Day for Grace” Mental Health Discussion
The public is invited to “A Day for Grace” at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, March 9, at the Longmont High School Auditorium, 1040 Sunset Street. Teen & Young Adult Job and Career Fair
Youth ages 14-21 are invited to learn about various careers and how to prepare for the job market at the Teen & Young Adult Job and Career Fair from 3 to 6 pm on Thursday, March 10, at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Road. Talk with employers to discover what different careers are really like, take part in mock job interviews, have your resume critiqued, and apply for actual jobs. Special Screening of Locally Produced Film
From 7 to 8:30 pm on Thursday, March 10, the Longmont Public Library at 409 4th Avenue will present “Carry the Tune,” a documentary written, directed and produced by a Silver Creek High School teacher and his students. Ice Rink to Close for the Season

Landlord Alliance: Rental Forecast
From 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, March 10, Elevations Credit Union will present a forecast panel discussion on real estate, mortgages, renting, LLCs, and 10 things to know about converting a home from residential to rental. This presentation in the Landlord Alliance Training series is free and open to the public at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. Grants Available for Youth Projects
The Longmont Youth Council has grants of $500 to $1,000 available for organizations that work with youth ages 5-18 that will make a positive change or improve or provide a benefit to our community. Projects that receive grants must be planned and carried out by school-age youth, and the money must be spent by December 31, 2016. The application deadline is March 12.
