Recycling Is Now Easier Than Ever
The City of Longmont is expanding options for responsible waste disposal. The
Zero Waste team at Resource Central now offers weekly collection of materials
like cabinetry, lumber, windows and select appliances from your neighborhood to
make a difference by diverting more materials from the landfill. Boulder County’s
Hazardous Materials Management Facility will now come to Longmont homes to
collect items like paints, batteries and chemicals. Call 720-564-2251 to schedule
your pickup. Learn more at bit.ly/Longmontcomposting.

Let the Weather Do the Watering
Ever watered your lawn, only for it to rain an hour later? Stop wasting water
with a simple upgrade! A rain sensor or weather-based irrigation controller can
automatically adjust watering based on the weather, prevent over watering and
save money on your bill. A rain sensor can also keep your landscape healthy
with just the right amount of water. Rebates and discounts are available! Visit
EWRebates.com for more help from Efficiency Works.

Is it time to clean out your compost bin?
Safeguard our waterways by washing compost containers indoors using sinks.
The nutrients, bacteria from food waste, and chemicals from soap can degrade
water quality and endanger aquatic life. If washing outdoors, ensure wash water
doesn’t enter roads or storm drains. Dispose of it in indoor sink drains or on
landscaped areas, particularly if using biodegradable or phosphate-free soap.
