    Ring in the Holidays in Downtown Longmont
    Help Longmont ring in the holiday season at the Downtown Tree Lighting Ceremony from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, November 27, at 6th Avenue and Main Street. Join Santa to decorate the tree, then enjoy the Black Light Show sure to wow your socks off!     City Schedules on Friday, November 27
    Although Longmont city government observes the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 27, as a holiday, the Longmont Museum and all Recreation facilities will be open regular hours. All other facilities will be closed. Thursday trash and recycling will be collected on Friday. 

    Envision Longmont – Telephone Town Hall
    The City of Longmont will hold a live Telephone Town Hall Meeting at 7 pm on Wednesday, December 2, to discuss the Envision Longmont community planning effort. Help update and integrate the Longmont Area Comprehensive Plan and the Longmont Multi-Modal Transportation Plan by joining the call, asking questions, and voting in polls.     Sunset Bridge Detour Begins Nov. 30 for Cyclists and Peds
    Beginning Monday, November 30, bicyclists and pedestrians will be routed around the Sunset Street bridge construction zone via St. Vrain Greenway to the Boston Avenue underpass (see map). The bridge and surrounding work area will be closed throughout construction. Access to businesses on either side of the bridge and Izaak Walton Park will be maintained throughout construction. The new bridge opening is anticipated in May 2016.
