Visit Santa at the Callahan Open House
Take a tour, enjoy holiday decorations, and visit with Santa from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, December 6, at the historic Callahan House and Garden at 312 Terry Street. Parents, bring a camera to capture the memories; the line for Santa ends at 6:30 pm. Admission is free and the public is welcome. Be Part of the “Joy to the World” Parade
It’s time to plan your Longmont Lights parade float! Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your organization in lights at 5 pm on Saturday, December 14, during the annual Holiday Parade on Main Street. All parade entries are eligible for prizes. For complete information, contest judging criteria and an application, visit LongmontColorado.gov/LongmontLights. The application deadline is Monday, December 2.  

Celebrate the Holidays with Harps
The Colorado Celtic Harp Society brings the lyrical magic of their harps to the Library’s second floor for an afternoon of holiday tunes. Stop by the Library at 409 4th Avenue between 1 and 2:30 pm on Saturday, December 7, and enjoy beautiful music throughout the building. No registration is required.  

Mindfulness and Meditation for Teens
School and winter holidays can mean stress and anxiety for many teens. Marcia Walker, a yoga instructor and Zen meditation practitioner at the Prairie Mountain Zen Center, will present a special program about mindfulness, meditation and movement for teens from 1 to 2 pm on Saturday, December 7, at the Longmont Library, 409 4th Avenue. The program includes breathing practice, mindfulness meditation, and yoga poses. For 6th through 12th graders only. No registration is required.

Contribute to the Five-year Consolidated Plan
The City of Longmont, as part of the Boulder/Broomfield Consortium, is developing a five-year Consolidated Plan, which is a requirement of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for receiving federal housing and community development funding. Residents and stakeholders are invited to community meetings to share opinions and perceptions about local housing and community development issues and needs. A variety of meeting dates and locations are offered; the Longmont meeting is from 2 to 4 pm on Thursday, December 5, at the St. Vrain Community Hub, 515 Coffman Street. Shred Your Private Documents for Free
Take boxed or bagged papers to be shredded to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, December 7. This is for residential documents only; no business documents accepted. Please also take ID and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. Gift cards can be purchased for any amount between $20 and $500 and can be used like a debit card. Whether you want to say thank you to a teacher, coach, boss, employee, volunteer or customer, or just need an easy gift for a friend or family member, the Downtown Gift Card has you covered. Gift cards can be purchased in person at the Longmont Downtown Development Authority office at 320 Main Street or online at DowntownLongmont.com.
