Boulder International Film Festival Short Films

This Thursday night, Oct. 24 at 7 pm, join the Longmont Museum for an evening dedicated to short films by filmmakers from across the globe as selected for inclusion in this year’s Boulder International Film Festival. Craft Zombie Jewelry at the Longmont Museum

Celebrate Halloween with handcrafted custom zombie jewelry. We will repurpose and transform plastic doll limbs with paint, glitter and glue into couture adornments. Zikr Dance Ensemble at the Longmont Museum

The Longmont Museum presents Zikr Dance Ensemble’s “Secrets” Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7 pm. Set to the electrifying Dune film score by Hans Zimmer, the program will feature a breathtaking fabric canopy covering the entire stage. The evening will also include “Mobile,” the iconic miniature masterpiece by former Ballet West and San Francisco Ballet choreographer Tomm Ruud. Rounding out this mesmerizing evening of contemporary, multi-media dance will be David Taylor’s “Altar” and “Cham Mandala,” a journey into the mysterious world of Tibetan ritual. Halloween Parade & Trick or Treat Street

Dress up in your Halloween costume, march down Main Street, and visit Downtown participating merchants afterward for Trick or Treat Street this Saturday, October 26. Kids and adults of all ages can be a part of Longmont’s annual free costume foot parade. Parade line-up begins at 9:45 am (10 am start) at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Avenue. No registration is required, and strollers or wagons are recommended for tiny feet. No motorized vehicles are allowed. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed, and no large animals please. Fall Leaf Collection Scheduled Oct. 28 – Nov. 8

The City of Longmont’s Fall Leaf Collection begins Oct. 28. Leaves will be collected at residences located north of 9th Avenue the week of Oct. 28 – Nov. 1, and at residences south of 9th Avenue the week of Nov. 4 – 8. Leaves must be bagged, and collection bags are available for free at the Longmont Recycling Center. Make sure that your bags are out before 7 a.m. on the Monday of your collection week, and should remain out until collected. This collection is free for all residents. 21st Ave. & Main St. Improvements Project

Clover Meadows Neighborhood Park Grand Opening

Clover Meadows Neighborhood park, Longmont’s newest park, will host a grand opening celebration on Saturday, November 2, from 9-11 am. The event will have a fall theme, with free apples and cider, City dignitaries cutting ribbons, a scavenger hunt and more. The fully accessible new park is located at 4850 Heatherhill Street in southwest Longmont. A few of its amenities include an apple orchard, a bicycle skills course, a large playground, and a bicycle-themed Art in Public Places installation.

 

Celebrate Halloween and Día de Muertos at Sandstone Ranch

Join Ms. Lili from the Longmont Public Library from 10 am-noon on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Sandstone Ranch Visitors & Learning Center, 3001 Sandstone Drive, for a family fun day full of singing, dancing, crafts and more to celebrate Halloween and Día de Muertos! Come dressed in costumes if you wish! Registration required on the online Rec registration website.
