In-person Coffee with Council on Saturday, October 23
Longmont City Council will host Coffee with Council from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, Oct. 23, at Lashley Street Station, 1200 Lashley St. At this event, you can talk informally with Council Members Tim Waters and Joan Peck on any topic of your choice, and the coffee’s on us! For more information, call 303-651-8649. Due to the upcoming holidays, this will be the last Coffee with Council session for 2021.

Take a Survey and Win a Gift Card!
In partnership with CU-Boulder’s CEDaR center, the LDDA wants your feedback in order to cater more effectively to the needs of Downtown Longmont’s visitors, residents, and businesses. Questions will cover one’s experience in Downtown Longmont, and will take roughly 5-10 minutes to complete. Three survey participants will be entered to win one of three $50 Downtown Gift Cards. Fall Leaf Collection Begins First Week in November
Leaves will be collected at residences located north of 9th Avenue on November 1 – 5 and collection will occur for residences south of 9th Avenue on November 8 – 12. Read more at longmontcolorado.gov/Home/Components/News/News/11997/3.

Learn about Restorative Justice Partnership
Join Longmont Community Justice Partnership (LCJP) staff and Longmont Police Commander James Brown for an hour-long presentation from 6:30-7:30 pm on Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Longmont Library, 409 4th Ave., exploring the history of this 25-year partnership in Longmont. ‘Phantom of the Opera’ Film + Orchestra
Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra returns to the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium to perform the live musical score to accompany the 1925 film, “Phantom of the Opera” starting at 7:15 pm on Thursday, Oct. 28. Halloween Parade & Trick or Treat Street
Dress up in your Halloween costume, march down Coffman and Main streets, and visit Downtown-participating merchants afterward for Trick or Treat Street this Saturday, Oct. 30. Kids and adults of all ages can be a part of Longmont’s annual free costume foot parade. Parade line-up begins at 9:45 am (10 am start) at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Ave. No registration is required; strollers or wagons are recommended for tiny feet. No motorized vehicles are allowed. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed, and no large animals please. Halloween Storytime at the Library
Join Longmont Librarians for an all ages, Halloween-themed storytime from 10-11 am on Friday, Oct. 29, on the Library’s West Patio, 409 4th Ave.! We’ll share some Halloween-y stories, books, songs, and dances. Costumes, mask-wearing, and general social distancing is encouraged. Haunted Carnival Benefits Longmont Police Explorers Program
Join Longmont Police Services for a Haunted Carnival to benefit the Longmont Police Explorers from noon until 6 pm on Saturday, Oct. 30, and Sunday, Oct. 31, at the Longmont Police Department and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Range and Training Center, 10916 County Road 5. Admission is $5/adults (15 years and older) with $1/play carnival games. No dogs allowed at the event. Walk through the Haunted House and Nerf Zombie Shoot for free (both designed for younger kids). Grab a drink and get creative starting at 6:30 pm on Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. With inspiration from Georgia O’Keeffe, we will take a closer look at the beautiful leaves of an echeveria succulent. In this guided acrylic painting class, you will learn how to create an interesting composition and play with expressive color and line to create a unique work of art.
