Halloween Parade and Trick or Treat Street
Kids and adults of all ages can be part of Longmont’s annual free costume foot parade at 10 am on Saturday, October 29. Line-up begins at 9:30 in Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Avenue. Dress in your Halloween costume and march on Main Street then visit participating Downtown merchants for Trick or Treat Street immediately following the parade. No registration is required, and strollers or wagons are recommended for tiny feet. No motorized vehicles are allowed, and dogs are welcome but must be leashed. Day of the Dead Family Celebration
You’re invited to Colorado’s largest annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, November 5, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. Enjoy live entertainment, including music and dancing; sugar skull decorating; traditional food; community altars; paper flower making; face painting; Lady Catrina and more! Come dressed in your finest “calaca” (skeleton) apparel and see the crowning of Lady Catrina 2016. Free admission.
Free Bicycle Rodeo for Kids
Calling children and bikes to the Boulder County Fairgrounds, Barn A – rain or shine – from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, October 29, to learn and practice bicycle handling skills and drills in a safe, confined environment. Parents can get information on how to ride safely with their children as well as participate in a family bike ride at 3:30. Take your family to the Longmont Public Library at 409 4th Avenue for a bilingual celebration of Day of the Dead/Fiesta de los Muertos from 3 to 4:30 pm on Sunday, October 30. Enjoy dancing, food, crafts, and more! No registration is required.
Bike and Learn with the Mayor
Take a bicycle tour along the St. Vrain Greenway from noon to 2 pm on Friday, November 4, with Mayor Coombs and City staff to learn about upcoming work on Resilient St. Vrain flood protection, Dickens Farm Park, and the bridge projects at Main Street and S. Pratt Parkway. Join for all or a portion of the 7-mile roundtrip ride from east of Main Street to Sandstone Ranch. Registration is not required, and the ride is weather dependent. City Seeks Feedback on Downtown Longmont Development
The LDDA invites the community to an information session about the downtown master plan from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Monday, November 7, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road. The event includes a presentation on global urban center trends followed by stations for residents to give feedback. Refreshments will be served. You’re also invited to take an online survey for use in master plan development. Visit DowntownLongmont.com to provide your thoughts.
Take Advantage of Curbside Leaf Collection
The City of Longmont offers residents FREE curbside collection of bagged leaves each fall. Know the rules, tips and schedule to be ready! Pick up free leaf bags at the Waste Diversion Center, 140 Martin Street, while supplies last. Only one pass will be made through each neighborhood, so be sure to have leaves out before 7 am on Monday of your designated leaf pick-up week. Find the schedule at LongmontColorado.gov/solidwaste or call 303-651-8416. If you miss the curbside collection, the Waste Diversion Center accepts yard waste year-round.

The seasonal Longmont Ice Pavilion at 725 8th Avenue in Roosevelt Park offers public ice skating, hockey, skating lessons and party facilities from November through early March.
