Visit the City’s Election Information webpage to learn about voter registration, to see the candidates for mayor and city council, and to see the 3 ballot issues that will appear on the ballot. Election Day is November 7 and you are encouraged to educate yourself about the issues.

Landlord Alliance Sponsors Candidate Forum
The Longmont Landlord Alliance will sponsor a forum with candidates for mayor and city council from 6:30 to 8:15 pm on Wednesday, October 18, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. Give Your Thoughts on Land Code Update
The City of Longmont is updating its Land Development Code to reflect the community’s vision for future growth as described in the recently adopted Envision Longmont Multimodal & Comprehensive Plan. The City is interested in feedback from residents, business owners, and other community stakeholders. You can comment on the working draft of zoning districts and use regulations sections of the code at bit.ly/developmentcodeupdate. 2017 “You Belong Anthology” Release Party
The Library is celebrating the release of its annual “You Belong Anthology” with a public open house from 6:30 to 9 pm on Monday, October 9, at the Library, 409 4th Avenue. Meet the Longmont area contributors to the anthology and enjoy readings from the book and book signings. There will be copies for sale. No registration required. Feel free to drop in for part or all of the party. 

Become a Spellbinder Storyteller
The Longmont Library chapter of Spellbinders Storytellers is offering new volunteer training and orientation from 1 to 4 pm on October 12, 18, 24, and 27 at the Library, 409 4th Avenue. Volunteers must attend all four training sessions, and preregistration is required. NEW DATE for Goofy Ghoulish Golf Outing
Get out for a Goofy Ghoulish Golf Outing from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, October 21, at Sunset Golf Course, 1900 Longs Peak Avenue. This Halloween-themed fun tournament is open to all ages, and you must be in costume to join the play.  Enjoy challenges, games and trivia on each hole. There are 22 boards and commissions that advise the Longmont City Council in a number of areas, including historic preservation, planning and zoning, public art, senior services, transportation, and parks and recreation. Strider Glider Race for Preschoolers
New this fall! Preschoolers ages 2-5 can showcase their biking skills at 9:30 am on Saturday, October 7, at Willow Farm Park, 901 S. Fordham Street, during a morning of racing fun. Participants should bring their glider and helmet (required). See How Longmont is Becoming More Resilient
To share with community members the work being done locally in the project “Resiliencia para todos/Resiliency for All,” the City of Longmont has partnered with other municipalities and BoCo Strong to conduct assessments within our local Latino communities to determine where the gaps exist in connecting services, resources and information. A free screening of the film “Resiliencia para todos” will be from 6 to 7 pm on Monday, October 16, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue. Hear a presentation about the work, see the film, and discuss this work with coordinators and community members. This presentation is in both English and Spanish. Call 303-651-8445 to register.
